Keeping our Fitness Programs in Great Shape

Part of Central Baptist Village’s multi-dimensional approach to wellness, our fitness programs are tailored to help improve residents’ strength, mobility, and overall well-being. We’re continually evaluating our programs to make sure that they’re in tip-top shape so residents can reach their individual wellness goals. Let’s have a look at some of the exciting components of our fitness programs.

One of the most exciting parts of our fitness programs is having a full-time dedicated Fitness Specialist on staff at CBV. Damian Waz has developed quite a following with residents because of his passion for health and fitness and his ability to create engaging and fun exercise programs tailored to individual residents’ needs. Through one-on-one fitness sessions and group fitness classes, Damian ensures that each resident leaves feeling energized and empowered!

While Damian spends a good portion of his time with our Commons Assisted Living residents, we’ve recently expanded his services across our entire campus. He now leads weekly specialized group fitness classes for residents of our Enrichment Program, Terrace, Pavilion 2 and Pavilion 1. This brings our total number of group exercise classes across all of CBV to a total of 35 per week!

We now offer various levels of group fitness classes which provide different levels of difficulty and give residents increased opportunities for challenging workouts that match their ability levels.

After introducing a new Building Better Balance step aerobics-style class in December, it became an instant hit among residents, and class attendance grew quickly. We’ve recently introduced a second weekly Building Better Balance class—a great reflection on our residents’ commitment to their health and fitness.

Our onsite Fitness Center offers a range of cardio and strength training equipment, including weight-lifting, elliptical, treadmill, and recumbent machines. We continue to expand and upgrade our Fitness Center workout equipment in order to give residents the tools they need to challenge themselves and achieve new milestones in their fitness journeys.

Did you know that our Fitness Center, group fitness classes, and one-on-one sessions with our Fitness Specialist are all free of charge to CBV residents? This is all part of our commitment to fitness as an important component of our multi-dimensional approach to wellness. And our continual additions and improvements to our programs will ultimately deliver more dynamic and fulfilling fitness experiences and support everyone’s fitness journey.
