Central Baptist Village Adds On-site Neuropsychological Testing to its Memory Care Services

Norridge, IL — February 7, 2019   Central Baptist Village, in partnership with the Chicago Center for Cognitive Wellness, now offers seniors who are concerned about possible memory issues and dementia the opportunity to get definitive answers through a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment.

Beginning March 12, Central Baptist Village will host a monthly Cognitive Wellness Clinic where neuropsychologists from CCCW will administer and analyze a series of tests that cover thinking skills such as memory and attention, language, executive function and information processing, among others. The assessments are open to the public and covered by most insurance.

“A neuropsychological evaluation is recommended to establish a clinical diagnosis of any mild cognitive impairments or dementia,” explains Dr. Sherrie All, a CCCW neuropsychologist and a leader in the field of brain health. “It is the critical first step in developing plans to improve and rehabilitate skills.”

Based on the results, Dr. All’s team will make customized recommendations for brain health and cognitive support, which range from sleep and dietary changes to memory aids and computer-assisted retraining programs to medical interventions.

The new Cognitive Wellness Clinic at Central Baptist Village is just the latest in the community’s innovative and accessible continuum of memory care. These programs and services include the Joyful Living Memory Cafe—a relaxed, monthly gathering with lunch, socializing and activities for both individuals with memory concerns and their caregivers and a Saturday Social Club for those with dementia—as well as free memory screenings, caregiver support and encouragement groups. For a complete description and schedule of these programs, please visit or call 708.583.8527.

Dr. All founded the Chicago Center for Cognitive Wellness in 2012 to provide the “what’s next” to people following a diagnosis of memory loss or other changes in thinking skills such as attention or executive function. She works to educate the public on brain-healthy behaviors and innovating brain health coaching. Her work in this area earned her the 2010 Sharpbrains Innovation Award for Most Innovative Mental Health Program, as well as the attention of media outlets such as The New Yorker and Crain’s Chicago Business.

Neuropsychological testing at Central Baptist Village is available by appointment only, on the second Tuesday of each month beginning March 12, from 9 to 5 pm at its Norridge campus. Fees covered by most insurance. Call 855-264-9355 to schedule an appointment.
