my inspired story

In My Own Words…
I began my career at Central Baptist Village in 1995 after moving to Chicago from North Carolina, where I worked as Admission Counselor for UNC in Chapel Hill, a wonderful place to work & live. Not sure what path I was going to follow in the area of employment, I saw an ad in the local paper for a newly created position at Central Baptist Village for Admission Coordinator in the Marketing Department. At that time the Marketing Department consisted of one Marketing Director and I became the second person and now there were two of us. After being quite successful in pre-renting the new apartments in The Commons building, I accepted again a newly created position of Director of Independent living in that building. We now have Assisting Living in The Commons building and it has been a rewarding experience in the transition of additional services to our residents.
Being new to the area, I was thrilled to have found a job meeting so many wonderful people. I love working with the residents and have become very close with many of them. I have made friends with my co-workers and have found a home away from home.
